This free papercraft page offers you a serie of products available to download in PDF format. You will find below a whole series of models ideal to initiate you with the techniques of paper folding, with results which could make you think of Origami or Kirigami.
And yet the art of papercraft is quite distinct from all these arts! Indeed, it uses a completely different technique that consists of a principle of cutting, folding and assembly which allows to achieve a 3D volume result. Also this assembly could make you think of a principle of 3D puzzle where one must make correspond the parts between them by a logical sequence of numbers. The numbers on the tabs of the pieces work in pairs. That is to say that you have to glue the tabs together as soon as you find a matching pair number.
Thus a paper sculpture will take shape before your eyes as you go along.
It is thus – you understood it well – an activity which requires much patience but also a little skill concerning the hands.
To initiate yourself to this fun technique, I invite you to get the templates available for download on our Origadream website, then print them with your standard printer on A4 size sheets.
You can also use different colored papers available in various stores specializing in creative hobbies. Then cut the pieces with a cutter or a pair of scissors, assemble them with glue. If you have used a classic white paper, you can decorate it with colors by deciding to paint it.
